【摘要】:Theflexuralfatiguetestdescribedinthistestmethodprovidesinformationontheabilityofacopperalloyflat-springmaterialtoresistthedevelopmentofcracksorgeneralmechanicaldeteriorationasaresultofarelativelylargenumberofcycles(generallyintherange105to108)underconditionsofconstantdisplacement.Thistestmethodisprimarilyaresearchanddevelopmenttoolwhichmaybeusedtodeterminetheeffectofvariationsinmaterialsonfatiguestrengthandalsotoprovidedataforuseinselectingcopperalloyspringmaterialsforserviceunderconditionsofrepeatedstraincycling.Theresultsaresuitablefordirectapplicationindesignonlywhenalldesignfactorssuchasloading,geometryofpart,frequencyofstraining,andenvironmentalconditionsareknown.Thetestmethodisgenerallyunsuitableforaninspectiontestoraqualitycontroltestduetotheamountoftimeandeffortrequiredtocollectthedata.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresforthedeterminationofthereversedorrepeatedbendingfatiguepropertiesofcopperalloyflat-sheetorstrip-springmaterialsbyfixedcantilever,constantamplitudeofdisplacement-typetestingmachines.Thismethodislimitedtoflatstockranginginthicknessfrom0.005to0.062in.(0.13to1.57mm),toafatigue-liferangeof105to108cycles,andtoconditionswherenosignificantchangeinstress-strainrelationsoccursduringthetest.Note18212;Thisimpliesthattheload-deflectioncharacteristicsofthematerialdonotchangeasafunctionofthenumberofcycleswithintheprecisionofmeasurement.Thereisnosignificantcyclichardeningorsoftening.1.2UnitsThevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareregardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationpurposesonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
