【摘要】:Thistestprovidesaneasyandreliablemethodforthedetectionofenterococciinwaterwithin24h.Forrecreationalwater(freshandmarine)testingisperformedtoinsureareasaresafeforswimming.Enterolertalsocanbeusedfortestingbottledwateranddrinkingwater.1.1Thistestmethodcoversasimpleprocedureforthedetectionofenterococciinwaterandwastewater.ItisbasedonIDEXX'spatentedDefinedSubstrateTechnology(DST).Thisproduct,Enterolert,utilizesanutrientindicatorthatfluoresceswhenmetabolized.Itcandetectthesebacteriaatonecolonyformingunit(CFU)/100mLwithin24h.Thepresenceofthismicroorganisminwaterisanindicationoffecalcontaminationandthepossiblepresenceofentericpathogens.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedsuccessfullywithdrinkingwater,sourcewater,recreational(freshandmarine)water,andbottledwater.Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
