【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdesignedtoevaluateanengineoil'sresistancetoaerationinautomotivedieselengineservice.ItiscommonlyreferredtoastheEngineOilAerationTest(EOAT).Thetestisconductedusingaspecified7.3L,direct-injection,turbochargeddieselengineonadynamometerteststand.ThistestmethodwasdevelopedasareplacementforTestMethodD892afteritwasdeterminedthatthisbenchtestdidnotcorrelatewithoilaerationinactualservice.TheEOATwasfirstincludedinAPIServiceCategoryCG-4in1995.Note1-CompaniontestmethodsusedtoevaluateengineoilperformanceforspecificationrequirementsarediscussedinthelatestrevisionofSpecificationD4485.Theunitvaluesstatedinthistestmethodshallberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.SIunitsareconsideredtheprimaryunitsforthistestmethod.TheonlyexceptioniswherethereisnodirectSIequivalent,forexample,screwthreads,nationalpipethreads/diameters,andtubingsize.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Thistestmethodisarrangedasfollows:
