【摘要】:Controlovertheresiduecontent(requiredbySpecificationD1835)isofconsiderableimportanceinend-useapplicationsofLPG.Inliquidfeedsystemsresiduescanleadtotroublesomedepositsand,invaporwithdrawalsystems,residuesthatarecarriedovercanfoulregulatingequipment.Thosethatremainwillaccumulate,canbecorrosive,andwillcontaminatefollowingproduct.Water,particularlyifalkaline,cancausefailureofregulatingequipmentandcorrosionofmetals.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofextraneousmaterialsweatheringabove38x00B0;Cthatarepresentinliquefiedpetroleumgases.TheextraneousmaterialswillgenerallybedissolvedintheLPG,butmayhavephase-separatedinsomeinstances.1.2Liquefiedpetroleumgasesthatcontaincertainanti-icingadditivescangiveerroneousresultsbythistestmethod.1.3Althoughthistestmethodhasbeenusedtoverifycleanlinessandlackofheavycontaminantsinpropaneformanyyears,itmightnotbesensitiveenoughtoprotectsomeequipmentfromoperationalproblemsorincreasedmaintenance.Amoresensitivetest,abletodetectlowerlevelsofdissolvedcontaminants,couldberequiredforsomeapplications.1.4WARNINGMercuryhasbeendesignatedbymanyregulatoryagenciesasahazardousmaterialthatcancausecentralnervoussystem,kidneyandliverdamage.Mercury,oritsvapor,maybehazardoustohealthandcorrosivetomaterials.Cautionshouldbetakenwhenhandlingmercuryandmercurycontainingproducts.SeetheapplicableproductMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)fordetailsandEPAx2019;swebsitehttp://www.epa.gov/mercury/faq.htmforadditionalinformation.Usersshouldbeawarethatsellingmercuryand/ormercurycontainingproductsintoyourstateorcountrymaybeprohibitedbylaw.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
