【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationdefinestherequirementsforgradingandqualityoffineandcoarseaggregate(otherthanlightweightorheavyweightaggregate)foruseinconcrete.1.2Thisspecificationisforusebyacontractor,concretesupplier,orotherpurchaseraspartofthepurchasedocumentdescribingthematerialtobefurnished.Note18212;Thisspecificationisregardedasadequatetoensuresatisfactorymaterialsformostconcrete.Itisrecognizedthat,forcertainworkorincertainregions,itmaybeeithermoreorlessrestrictivethanneeded.Forexample,whereaestheticsareimportant,morerestrictivelimitsmaybeconsideredregardingimpuritiesthatwouldstaintheconcretesurface.Thespecifiershouldascertainthataggregatesspecifiedareorcanbemadeavailableintheareaofthework,withregardtograding,physical,orchemicalproperties,orcombinationthereof.1.3Thisspecificationisalsoforuseinprojectspecificationstodefinethequalityofaggregate,thenominalmaximumsizeoftheaggregate,andotherspecificgradingrequirements.Thoseresponsibleforselectingtheproportionsfortheconcretemixtureshallhavetheresponsibilityofdeterminingtheproportionsoffineandcoarseaggregateandtheadditionofblendingaggregatesizesifrequiredorapproved.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisstandard.
